- • Rules of recreation on the lake:
— canoe rides will require a 500 baht per paddle deposit (refundable deposit).
— swimming and canoe riding are allowed only in life jackets, as the depth of the lake is very large in some places
— swimming in the lake is prohibited from 18.00 to 7.00, so it gets dark and you can’t see a person in the water, it’s not safe
— electricity on the lake is generated using a generator on the base, so electricity is only available from 18.00 to 6.00 (time may vary)

Khao Sok + Cheo Lan Lake
A little unconventional for Phuket and Thailand in general, but no less interesting, an excursion to Khao Sok National Park, with a possible overnight stay on Cheo Lan Lake. There will be no snow-white beaches, the sea and boat trips. Here you will see a different nature of Thailand.
The territory of the park covers 738 sq km, of which 165 is occupied by the lake. The rest of the area is covered with jungle and limestone hills. The lake is a huge reservoir of fresh water, which provides considerable benefits for the surrounding villages. The lake has a huge variety of islands, bays and coves.
The National Park is inhabited by a large variety of mammals, birds and reptiles. Here you can meet tigers, elephants, tapirs, many species of monkeys, rhinoceros birds, king cobra, reticulated python or flying lizard. Since the late 80s, tourists have been exploring this beautiful place in southern Thailand. The lake is becoming more famous and more popular with foreigners and locals every year. Activities around the lake include sightseeing tours of viewpoints and waterfalls, cave exploration, kayaking, scenic boat tours, and animal watching on safari.
The park’s rainforests are among the oldest on earth. It is here that you can find a huge flower of Rafflesia (Rafflesia Kerrii), which reaches 1 meter in diameter and can weigh up to 10 kg.
Where is Khao Sok located?
Khao Sok is a national park in southern Thailand’s Surat Thani Province located on the isthmus separating the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.
How to get to Khao Sok Park?
It is most convenient to get to Khao Sok Park as part of an excursion group, where you will be provided with not only a convenient transfer with an overnight stay, but also a check-in to the waterfall, elephant farm, observation platforms along the way and, of course, a boat tour of Cheo Lan Lake.
When is the best time to visit Khao Sok?
The park is open all year round , but the best time to visit is from January to April. The average temperature at this time is +29C, preferably sunny weather without rain.
