Krabi is one of the most vibrant provinces in Thailand, which is why royal palaces are located here. Hiking tours in Krabi include visiting the town of Krabi with its extraordinary traffic lights held by Neanderthals. Also, you can see the White temple, crab sculptures from a sky deck on the coast of a scenic lake as well as an eagle monument.
One of the main sighseeings in Krabi is the Emerald pool. It is a very popular attraction for both tourists and locals. A small pool is filled by fresh spring water falling down from the mountain tops. The other must see is a Blue pond in the forest 400 meters further upstream from the pool. It is very small and no bathing is allowed, but the pond fascinates with its unusual colour of water.
In the province you will also visit hot radon springs. In addition to the relaxing effect, the springs also help to recover from diseases of locomotor system and cleansing the skin as well as overall rejuvenation.
Tiger Cave temple is a popular attraction in Krabi. Hidden in the forest, it is a well known Buddhist temple and meditation centre. You will go through a pathway along the valley where in the last century a monk named Jumnean Seelasettho went to meditate in the cave and witnessed tiger's spirit. This discovery led to the name of the temple. Another legend says that a tiger used to live in the cave and his paw prints are on the cave walls. There is a Buddhist education centre in the temple area revered in the province of Krabi. There are 1237 steps to the summit of the Tiger Cave Temple from the skydeck with a Buddha statue on the mountain top. From here you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the whole Krabi province. Legend has it that the one who completes 1237 steps will be absolved from sins.
On the way to Krabi you will pass through Pha Nga province, visit its cave temple inhabited by monkeys.
